Build, govern, and run mission-critical AI workflows

Thread AI’s Lemma helps Federal agencies and DoD commands move AI out of pilot programs and into mission workflows, securely, at scale, and under human command. Many agencies have shown what AI can do in a pilot but find it hard to take further, because each new use case needs its own integration and review. Lemma acts as the infrastructure layer agencies build on, connecting the systems, data, and AI models they already use, so programs can take on new work without starting over each time.

Lemma is governed by default: every tool call is authorized outside the model, every agent works within explicit boundaries the agency sets, sensitive or unusual actions pause for operator approval. Every step carries a chain of custody for security and authorization reviews.

Built by Palantir’s former heads of AI product and engineering, Lemma is model agnostic and adapts to functions across agencies, commands, and organizations. It helps government agencies expand AI safely and reliably across the mission while authority stays with the people accountable for it.

Lemma is built for three challenges agencies face when bringing AI into mission work:

  • Disconnected data: Mission data lives in different formats and systems, with no shared standard. Lemma translates across those formats, so AI can work with structured and unstructured data alike.
  • Control and accountability: Consequential decisions need a person accountable for them. Lemma routes work to operators at the steps an agency chooses, so they can review, correct, or stop it.
  • Infrastructure complexity: Connecting AI across products, platforms, and providers often means custom engineering for every program. Lemma handles that layer, so teams can focus on the mission.
