MIDAS Education was founded to support competency-based learning and educator-driven improvement. MIDAS manages and has managed statewide implementations for Professional Development Management, Microcredentials, Recommended Instructional Materials and Data Literacy. Early in the company’s work developing learning platforms, the leadership team recognized a consistent barrier across districts and state agencies: Educators wanted to improve teaching and learning, but meaningful improvement was nearly impossible without timely, trustworthy, and interpretable data.
School systems were surrounded by data but lacked infrastructure capable of integrating, governing, and analyzing it effectively. Information was fragmented across student information systems, assessment platforms, HR systems, financial systems, and program databases. Even when data could be collected, it was rarely unified in ways that supported meaningful analysis or responsible decision-making.
In response, MIDAS shifted its focus toward solving this foundational problem. The company began developing tools designed not simply to display information, but to transform fragmented educational data into structured, governed, and analytically useful systems. Over time, this work evolved into the MIDAS Data Forge platform—a unified data modeling and analytics environment that allows districts and state agencies to securely integrate multiple data sources, standardize definitions, and generate actionable insights.
Recognizing the growing demand for advanced analytics and natural-language interaction with data, MIDAS later introduced Artisan AI. Artisan operates as an orchestration layer that allows users to query and analyze governed data through structured execution plans while preserving auditability, role-based permissions, and analytical reproducibility. Together, Data Forge and Artisan form the foundation of MIDAS’s current platform architecture: a governed data and AI environment designed specifically for the operational and regulatory realities of K–12 education.
At MIDAS, we deploy single-tenant data environments that enable secure AI orchestration, allowing organizations to use AI to drive analysis without exposing underlying data to commercial LLMs. Every computation is deterministic, reproducible, and fully auditable.
