Section 508-Compliant Training and Course Development Solutions for Government

Lecticon builds custom training courses and operates the platform that delivers them, for agencies where every person required to take the training has to be able to finish it including the learner using a screen reader, the one reading in a second language, and the one getting through a module on a phone during a shift break.

For driver licensing agencies, that means public-facing education residents can complete without calling for help. For public safety and first responder programs, recurrency training that fits a duty schedule. For fleet and transportation operations, driver safety training tied to the outcomes your risk numbers already track.

We build to WCAG 2.2 AA and Section 508 at the authoring stage, where conformance costs almost nothing, rather than at remediation, where it costs a great deal, and we document any criterion that cannot apply to a given course objective rather than leaving you to discover it. This is where most training vendors struggle after the contract is signed: text baked into a video, a quiz a keyboard cannot reach, a certificate a screen reader cannot announce. Cheap to prevent, expensive to fix, and they surface in an audit rather than in a demo.

Language access works the same way. The Work Zone and First Responder Course we operate for the Washington State Department of Licensing runs in fourteen languages including English, selectable by the learner at any point. That was not simply a translation project added at the end. It is how the course was built.

Completion data reaches your system of record automatically, so your staff are not reconciling spreadsheets to prove a requirement was met.
If your agency faces a training mandate, a compliance deadline, or a course that no longer reflects current regulation, we build training that holds up to review.

Is Lecticon training Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA compliant?

Accessibility is built at the authoring stage rather than added through remediation. Courses are developed against WCAG 2.2 AA and ADA Section 508, including non-text content like video, assessments, and certificates. Text is never rendered as pixels inside an image, which is the most common and most expensive conformance failure in eLearning.

Can courses be delivered in multiple languages?

Yes. The learner sets their language when they first sign in, and the course runs in that language throughout. The work zone and first responder course we operate for a state licensing agency is available in fourteen languages.

Has this been deployed at scale for a state agency?

Yes. We operate a statewide course that every first-time driver license applicant under 25 in Washington must pass to be licensed, effective November 1, 2026. The course is live, free to the learner, funded by the state, and reaches the full applicant population rather than a pilot group.

Does completion data integrate with our existing system of record?

Yes. Completions transmit to your system automatically when the learner finishes, and learners can confirm their own completion status without contacting anyone. Your staff are not reconciling spreadsheets to prove a requirement was met.

Can you update or remediate courses we already own?

Yes. We convert and remediate existing content, including courses inherited from another vendor or built before current accessibility standards applied.
