Our customer base includes the flying public, aviation industry, and other government agencies. Currently we support over 200 transportation web sites and applications”, says Bud Gordon, FAA’s Web Operations Manager. In 2009, the FAA entered into an Enterprise partnership with a leading Cloud Service Provider, Akamai, consolidating many cloud based capabilities into a single vehicle that combines greater FAA flexibility with significant operational cost savings. The FAA began leveraging cloud solutions to: defend its Enterprise web infrastructure from malicious activity, provide seamless, on-demand, scaling and flash crowd protection, all while delivering top notch application performance.
