Adversaries are increasingly infiltrating U.S. supply chains through covert capital, hidden ownership, and shell companies, making every unvetted contract a potential national security risk. Although mandates like NDAA Sections 841–843 and 847 require vendor vetting, current processes remain too slow, fragmented, and shallow to stop threats at operational speed. Strengthening Vendor Threat Mitigation will require continuous monitoring, AI-driven analytics, multilingual/adversary-focused data, and seamless integration to ensure intelligence-driven protection across all foreign-sourced contracts.
