Intel Sapphire Rapids and Small Objects Benchmark

The growth of data and how to manage and monetize it is the defining characteristic of the modern enterprise. This document describes the performance of MinIO object storage when run on Supermicro GrandTwin™ SuperServers equipped with NVMe drives. This testing explores and characterizes MinIO performance on Intel Sapphire Rapids (Intel 7) architecture to evaluate small object throughput. Understanding small object performance is critical when assessing an object storage solution’s suitability for housing data lakes and data lakehouses, and the analytics and machine learning workloads that run against them.
