This paper presents a real-world comparison of the Ocient Hyperscale Data Warehouse™ versus Apache Druid, which is also available as a database-as-a-service called Imply Polaris. We compare the platforms' architectures, examine their strengths and weaknesses, and then share the results of benchmark tests comparing Ocient to Druid. These tests used equivalent hardware to run two common real-time analytics use cases, and they measured loading, query performance, and storage efficiency at a large scale.
