Securing the Municipal Water Supply from Cyber Attacks: Insights on Threats and Regulation

Event Date: June 27, 2024
Hosted By: Join CDW, Trend Micro, TX One, Semperis & Cyolo

Foreign nation state-sponsored cyber group and threat actors affiliated with the Iranian Government have carried out malicious cyber-attacks against multiple critical infrastructure entities; this and other nation state “bad actors” have their eyes on this precious resource. In one case, hackers targeted and disabled a common operational technology (OT) used at water facilities. Unfortunately, these facilities often lack the resources and technical capacity to adopt rigorous cybersecurity practices. In this webinar, we hope to educate your organization on the need for increased cyber readiness.

The White House has asked states to submit plans by June 28 to prevent hacks on water systems. There's even a Congressional bill that proposes new cyber rules for the sector, and changes to your cyber insurance coverage have already started.

In This Webinar Attendees Learned:

  • An overview of emerging threats to the nation’s water supply by nation states and organized cyber-crime
  • How modern technology fits the Perdue Model for water security
  • What free tools you should investigate to prepare for cybersecurity readiness
  • How grants can assist you in receiving readiness funding

CDW, Trend Micro, TX One, Semperis and Cyolo collaborated in an engaging webinar on the recent memorandum from the White House to state governors on the threat to our water supply and how nation-state “bad actors” are utilizing AI and organized crime to target this most critical resource.

A crucial aspect of all security measures is visibility and context. This means understanding who is using GenAI and what activities they are engaged in. Very soon, you will also need to understand the risks stemming from the usage and address them. You will need to understand usage and design policy, and education programs. Portal26 extends your existing Zscaler investment to deliver all these needs in a matter of hours.
