We dove deep into the two pillars of Snowflake's resilience architecture and how they map to government needs:

  • Replication and Failover/Failback:
    • Learned to use Replication Groups and Failover Groups to create point-in-time consistent copies of your objects (including databases, shares, users, and roles) to one or multiple accounts across regions or cloud platforms.
    • Learned how to configure customizable schedules for different object groups based on criticality.
  • Client Redirect:
    • Saw how a single, static connection URL automatically redirects all connected clients to a different Snowflake account during a failover, dramatically simplifying recovery and reducing RTO.
