Snowflake

Geospatial for Tactical Analysis

Event Date: November 12, 2025
Hosted By: Snowflake & Carahsoft

Snowflake hosted an immersive, hands-on training session designed for public sector professionals to harness their advanced geospatial capabilities for mission-critical analysis. Participants learned to perform bounding searches, co-traveler analysis, and focus area identification to detect activity hotspots. The session also covered advanced visualization techniques, including HEX grids and histograms, path characterization with line-string analysis, and integration of geospatial insights into Snowflake dashboards.

Attendees gained practical experience building interactive geo-applications using Streamlit and exporting analysis outputs to ESRI systems via shapefiles in Jupyter notebooks. This training addressed the operational needs of defense, intelligence, law enforcement, and other public sector organizations requiring secure, scalable geospatial analysis for informed decision-making.

Key Takeaways:

  • Practical Geospatial Analysis: Mastered advanced techniques such as bounding searches, co-traveler analysis, focus area identification, and path characterization for mission-critical insights.
  • Data Visualization & Integration: Learned to visualize large datasets using HEX grids, histograms, and line-string analysis, and integrate results into Snowflake dashboards.
  • Hands-On Application Development: Built interactive geo-applications with Streamlit and export analysis outputs to ESRI systems via shapefiles in Jupyter notebooks.

By the end of the session, participants were equipped to transform complex location-based data into actionable intelligence while upholding the security and governance standards essential to public sector missions.
