With the Executive Order (EO) 14057 being signed last December, the Federal Government must now lead by example to achieve a carbon pollution-free electricity sector by 2035 and net-zero emissions economy-wide by no later than 2050. The head of each agency is required to develop an agency-wide strategic process and meet goals such as 100% zero-emission vehicle acquisitions by 2035, including 100% zero-emission light-duty vehicle acquisitions by 2027.

In addition to these goals, the head of each agency must propose targets, including annual progress targets, to meet numerous new requirements. Fortunately, networked electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions allow agencies to track and measure sustainability metrics, making it easier for them to stick to their objectives and fulfill reporting requirements.
