Capture high resolution, true-color point clouds to create digital twins of any asset

Emesent is a world-leader in drone autonomy, LiDAR mapping, and data analytics. Founded in 2018, Emesent has since built a reputation for delivering high-quality data capture in the mining, infrastructure, survey and mapping industries. Their flagship product, Hovermap, is a smart mobile scanning unit that can be mounted to a drone to map hazardous and GPS-denied environments.

Hovermap uses LiDAR data and advanced SLAM* algorithms to generate accurate 3D point clouds of the scanned environment, as well as automate the drone flight even when GPS is not available. This enables users to capture high-resolution data in previously inaccessible areas, without compromising personnel safety.

Hovermap operators can fly an entire mission, from take-off to landing, using a tablet. The LiDAR data is processed on-board in real-time to generate a point cloud, providing the drone with collision avoidance, position hold and autonomous flight in GPS-denied, hazardous, and dark environments, and the operator with a real-time view of the area of interest.

Equally capable above ground or underground, indoors or out, Hovermap can be used to capture high resolution, true-colour point clouds to create digital twins of any asset: bridges, buildings, communications towers, tunnels, and many more.

Thanks to its SLAM and collision avoidance capabilities, it can navigate the drone even in areas with compromised GNSS signal.

Post-processing outputs high-quality, high-resolution point clouds with a full range of attributes, x,y,z, intensity, range and channel attributes for each return, plus flight path pose. These high-resolution point clouds can be processed into CAD-ready datasets and used to build 3D models in PointCab Origins.
