Improving National Cybersecurity: Government & Industry Collaboration for Zero Trust

Event Date: July 28, 2021
Hosted By: BeyondTrust, Thales, SailPoint, & Carahsoft

President Biden’s Executive Order (EO) has accelerated the crucial need to improve U.S. cybersecurity and move towards Zero Trust. When building a true Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), it’s critical for agencies to understand that security solutions need to work together to provide the best line of defense.

Almost every attack today requires a stolen identity or privilege to execute and initially compromise an environment or to move laterally within a network. Agencies must verify every attempted access through proper identity controls with location awareness, identity authentication, MFA, and assume every access attempt is a threat actor until verified. Integrating market-leading solutions and applying the principle of least privilege (PoLP) are two powerful and well-recognized ways to secure agency systems, and two strong underlying themes in the EO.

In this webinar SailPoint, Thales, and BeyondTrust collaborated with government security leaders to discuss:

  • Why privilege protection and identity management are foundational to reducing your attack surface and threat window
  • Strategies for segmenting access controls to enforce least privilege
  • How Identity Authentication, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and MFA integrate to enable Zero Trust principals
  • Government perspective on EO and ZTA adoption
Featured Speakers for this webinar:
  • Frank Briguglio, Public Sector Identity Security Strategist, SailPoint
  • Josh Brodbent, Senior Public Sector Security Director, BeyondTrust
  • Eric Avigdor, Market Owner and Director IAM Product Management, Thales
  • Gerald J. Caron III, CIO/ AIG/IT, OIG, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (invited, pending agency approval)
