In this paper, we outline how ProfileUnity was designed to address many of the shortcomings of Roaming Profiles, and basic profile management tools that are just a step away from roaming profiles, in managing user profiles and user-authored data over multiple desktop platforms, including physical upgrades and refreshes, Windows migrations and moves to virtual desktops.
