Carahsoft, in conjunction with its vendor partners, sponsors hundreds of events each year, ranging from webcasts and tradeshows to executive roundtables and technology forums.
From wildfires and hurricanes to increasing crime rates and the continuing pandemic, public safety organizations at all levels of government find themselves spread thin these days. However, a continued wave of technology innovations can help fill their need for better data, quicker response and effective delivery of services.
The move of many public safety organizations to the cloud has opened new options for using and sharing operational data with more emphasis on analysis. Rapidly deployable real-time crime centers, crime mapping software and AI analysis of video monitoring images have all improved response times and success rates. Drones have given both police and emergency responders improved awareness of the situation they are entering. All serve to provide data quickly to on-scene personnel and also to capture events as they unfold.
This Workshop featured lessons from government and industry professionals on how technology is changing the way that public safety is addressed in a world of digital awareness.
Attendees came away from this event with a better understanding of:
• How data access has become the guiding star for public safety technologies, allowing more targeted, effective responses
• How to improve cybersecurity of public safety networks in the face of growing threats such as ransomware
• The role of real time crime centers in emergency response
• The growing role for predictive analytics in fighting disasters—both natural and man-made
• The rapidly increasing need for digital asset management
