In 2018, the Department of Defense (DoD) conducted an assessment on certain classified networks, which led them to discover alarming shortcomings in both network and visibility. In response, DISA, USCYBERCOM, and NSA joined forces to evaluate the potential of moving towards a Zero Trust Architecture to shore up network security.
