Splunk is Magic

Splunk Magic Quadrant Carahsoft Government Technology

Some users of Splunk may feel like there is magic involved in the way the operational intelligence tool pulls together disparate pieces of data to enable actionable planning. But, the magic we are referencing today is Gartner’s Magic Quadrant.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a methodology used by the leading technology analyst firm to provide a wide-angle view of the relative positions of a market’s competitors. The quadrant ranks companies as niche players, visionaries, challengers, and leaders based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision.

For the third straight year, Splunk was named a “Leader” in the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) chart. According to the report, “the greatest area of unmet need is effective targeted attack and breach detection,” and Splunk is leading the charge in helping to meet those cybersecurity needs.

The Splunk team cited pride over the improvement in the rating of their completeness of vision this year. They highlighted a recent acquisition that will add machine learning-based user behavioral analytics to extend the analytics-enabled SIEM to better detect advanced and insider threats – a direct response to Gartner’s thoughts on market needs.

If you want to learn more about Splunk, we’re hosting the Splunk GovSummit on Oct 22 to discuss how government is using data today to make a big difference in the future. For full details on the event, click here.
