From Months to Days: GPU-Accelerated Armor and Weapons Development

Event Date: November 05, 2025
Hosted By: Impetus & Carahsoft

Emerging threats like drones and drone swarms are transforming today’s battlefield. Traditional development cycles for weapons and armored vehicles—which often take years of prototypes, subsystem tests, and full product qualifications—can’t keep up, leaving warfighters exposed.

In this on-demand webinar we explore how advanced ballistics engineering simulation is speeding the development, qualification, and deployment of next-generation defense technologies. Discover how digital twins of materials, threats, and protective systems can reduce costly live tests and cut lead times in half.

In on demand webinar covered:

  • How asymmetric drone warfare is driving new weapon and armor requirements
  • Techniques for accelerating development using virtual engineering, testing, and digital twins
  • An overview of numerical ballistics simulation with the Impetus DEFENSE, Impetus MARKET, and Impetus ARENA
  • How to model modern shaped charges and validate results with experimental data
  • A live software demonstration, including visualization and analysis of simulation results

Access the recording now to learn how simulation-driven design is enabling faster, more effective solutions against evolving threats.

Helping Prevent Opioid Overdoses: Student Developers Build Web App on AWS

To combat the opioid epidemic in San Luis Obispo (SLO) County in California, the county formed the SLO Opioid Safety Coalition (SLO OSC) in 2016 to address opioid misuse in the region. To help the community and prevent overdose deaths, the county decided to build a web application, Naloxone Now, in collaboration with the Cal Poly Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub) powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which would help connect those in need to the life-saving drug Naloxone.
