As the 'fever pitch' of publicity surrounding cloud computing continues to grow, federal IT executives increasingly realize they must find a way to incorporate this new computing model, while simultaneously maintaining security and keeping costs low.

While security concerns remain, some federal IT organizations are finding that cloud computing initiatives may actually increase security if the information stored is safely guarded within the confines of a 'private cloud.'
