Carahsoft Hosts 2nd Annual Government Big Data Forum on March 6, 2012

Gus Hunt, Chief Technology Officer of the Central Intelligence Agency, to Deliver Keynote Address 

   

WHAT: Carahsoft Technology Corp., the trusted government IT solutions provider, is hosting the 2nd Annual Government Big Data Forum. During the one-day conference, government thought leaders and industry experts discuss best practices around Big Data technology, trends and issues, and focus on lessons learned regarding the successful implementation of Big Data analysis for mission needs. 

The program will also include a Big Data Solutions showcase featuring succinct informational presentations from pioneers of the Big Data movement, including startups Cloudera, Datameer, and Digital Reasoning, as well established providers including VMware, SAP, Thetus, and MarkLogic. 

WHO: Gus Hunt, Chief Technology Officer for the CIA, will deliver a keynote address on “Perspectives on Big Data Mission Needs.” Dr. Amr Awadallah, founder and CTO Cloudera, and John Marshall, Chief Technology Officer, Intelligence Directorate, Joint Staff/J2, are also among the many experts speaking. 

The event will be moderated by Bob Gourley, founder of CTOlabs.com and former CIO of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Mr. Gourley is a prolific writer and speaker on technologies and companies that hold the greatest potential of positive disruptions in enterprise IT. Anyone working in the government to field Big Data solutions is invited to engage in this event to dialog on issues of common concern on the topic of overwhelming data.
