JABBER® SOLUTIONS FOR GOVERNMENT FROM CARAHSOFT TM
Jabber Interoperability Options
Jabber, Inc. is the most aggressive and vocal proponent for instant messaging (IM) interoperability and presence-enabled services in the industry. Jabber, Inc. solutions enable companies to interact with other IM clients and servers, regardless of protocol. With the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform™ (Jabber XCP™), companies get native support for server-to-server federation, allowing secure and controlled communication with customers, partners, and vendors. The ability to use Jabber XCP to communicate with servers and clients using Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), SIP for Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions (SIMPLE), or Instant Messaging and Presence Service (IMPS) gives enterprises and operators robust IM and presence capabilities to reach the widest range of business and community contacts.
IRC Gateway and Turnkey Installation
With the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) Gateway, Jabber XCP users can transparently participate in IRC channels while maintaining full access to the advanced text conferencing/group chat capabilities available within Jabber XCP. This allows organizations to deploy the advanced multi-user conferencing capabilities and strong security features associated with Jabber XCP while maintaining connectivity to existing IRC infrastructures.
In support of the IRC Gateway, Jabber, Inc. offers turnkey installation packages to customers wishing to connect to legacy IRC infrastructures. Jabber, Inc. engineers provide installation and configuration of the included Intel-based server hardware, providing customers with an "instant-on" solution for IRC interoperability.
SIP/SIMPLE Gateway
A foundational element of Jabber XCP's support for multi-protocol messaging and presence, the SIP/SIMPLE Gateway allows Jabber XCP users to exchange presence information and IMs with users on IBM Lotus Sametime, Microsoft Live Communications Server (LCS), and Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) systems, while maintaining communication with other XMPP-based solutions. The gateway is available for the Microsoft Windows Server Platform, in addition to Solaris and Linux.
