Protecting Data at Rest, Data in Transit, and Data Sharing: COTS Encryption Solutions Join Information Security Corporation (ISC) Vice President of Sales, Andy McDermott, as he personally addresses the mission, problem, and solution of protecting data at rest, data in transit, and data sharing.
The mission: Explore how ISC's encryption applications provide excellent protection for the storage and transmission of sensitive data, even across platforms and amongst Communities of Interest. The problem: Federal and State agencies are realizing the enormous risks associated with leaving data unsecured. Data breaches make front page news which initiate GAO investigations. The problem is not only the tremendous amount of sensitive data produced but the probability of sharing the data across multiple agencies with different information systems. The solution: The OMB enacted FISMA to require each agency to implement comprehensive security policies and practices. The ISC product-suite has been evaluated and approved by the National Security Agency for use within the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. Recently the OMB, DoD, and GSA awarded Carahsoft (on behalf of ISC) a blanket purchase agreement for their encryption products. ISC applications are available to federal and state agencies through the GSA SmartBUY program.
