BOBCAT

BOBCAT provides a suite of J2EE services that can operate as either a client-server application or as an integrated part of a larger analytical system. BOBCAT accelerates intelligence analysis through the following capabilities in real time:

1. Collect – Based on a Warfighter’s interests, identify disparate data sources located on the Global Information grid (GIG) that may provide actionable intelligence against a specific information requirement.



2. Associate – Our automated link analysis technique makes associations across persons, places, or organizations across a corpus of intelligence traffic. While many approaches to link analysis rely on the co-occurrence within intelligence reports to make associations, our approach advances the state of the art through a probabilistic association technique.



3. Analyze – We are able to take a stream of intelligence traffic and organize into based on its content. Using a newspaper analog, this technique can effectively treat newspaper articles as independent of one another and automatically organize them into topics such as World News, Politics, Sports, etc. By using such an approach we enable the Warfighter to quickly identify topical relevant information.



4. Predict – Using DAC-developed advanced Bayesian Network techniques, we provide the capability to process unstructured intelligence reports and turn it into probabilistic actionable intelligence. First, we can dynamically construct Bayesian Networks based on observed data. Second, we have developed techniques grounded in semantic

• Organize that data into themes based on content: Sift through data in a way that allows analysts to ask informed questions and drive to detailed conclusions faster than ever before.



• Identify and characterize relationships between entities: Automatically use the themes that have been generated to visually characterize how entities in the data are associated with one another.



• Predict future events: Use historical and real-time data to provide an analyst with possible future events and their associated probabilities.



• Output results in MS Office formats: Export results as Word or PowerPoint documents for communication across the leadership team.
